making companies. A year after the watch’s creation, Mercedes Gleitze, an
amazing swimmer and the first woman to have ever swam the English Channel,
decided to prove if the watch was, in fact, water proof. She dove into a pool
with the expensive watch on her wrist, swam to the bottom, and swam back up,
and, even after days and days went by, the watch still worked perfectly.
