Piaget watches - An everyday,
low class farmer named Georges Piaget was just getting by with his
farming business in the 1870s. In order to make a little extra cash, he decided
to design and create watches for watch companies as a side project in 1874.
This, he decided, was a good career choice for him, so he packed up his farm and
opened up his own little workshop.
However, nobody knew who he or his brand was. Prior to World War II, Piaget only
sold his timepieces to other watch making companies, allowing them to put their
label on Piaget’s watches paying him for each watch design he sold them. Once
the war was over, Piaget had passed on, leaving his workshop to his two
grandsons, Gerald and Valentin.
The boys kept going with the business their grandfather had been working with,
but they kept a closer attention to consumer satisfaction. Once realizing that
people who purchased the watches Piaget made absolutely loved the design and
style, the boys decided that it was time to create a label of their own. They
set off and made a more recognizable market, letting people know that those
watches that they sold to other companies who put their own labels on them were,
in fact, Piaget watches. The brand
became extremely well known all over Europe, and from there, Piaget watches
became an extreme success. Throughout further years, the company had made a few
points in history. The company didn’t internationally expand their company until
the 1950s, which was a first for any watch company. And, even without being
internationally known, the company was surprisingly as successful as it was.
Also, the Piaget boys had created the world’s thinnest automatic watch up until
1967, when someone else made a thinner one.
Rolex watches, Omega watches, and most other watch companies today target a more
sporty-elegant audience. Piaget watches
targets only a classier, more dressier audience, creating only the most precise
and elegant watches they could possible make. If you like watches that look a
lot like jewellery, with an elegant sparkle, but still have amazing mechanics,
then a Piaget watch is the watch for you. It’s durable, it’s reliable—it’s
everything you’ve ever dream of a perfect watch being.
